Welcome to Grace Baptist Church’s Discipleship Course! We are so glad you have decided to go through this course.

This study uses Paul Chappell’s CONTINUE: A Biblical Journey in Personal Discipleship. While the book is a valuable resource, participation in the course is not contingent on owning it. We highly encourage working through the material with a partner or a small group—discussion and shared accountability will strengthen your understanding and spiritual growth. However it may be done solo if you wish.

The course is 14 chapters long. Each Chapter has a review and introduction at the beginning. At the end there is an application section, that can help you apply what you’ve learned. between each chapter, there are 5 daily devotions, focusing on what you learn from the previous chapter.

How to use this course

  • Prepare prayerfully. Begin each session with prayer, asking God to open your heart and mind to His truth.

  • Read and watch the material. Read the corresponding chapter in CONTINUE, along with the Scripture references given.

  • Discuss together. If you’re in a pair or group, discuss the study questions and share how the material applies to your life.

  • Apply what you learn. Identify one practical step to obey or put into practice between sessions.

  • Keep accountability. Check in with your partner or group about progress, struggles, and prayer needs.

  • Read the Daily Devotions to Continue growing.

Suggested meeting format (60–90 minutes)

  1. Opening prayer (5 minutes)

  2. Brief check-in / life updates (10 minutes)

  3. Scripture reading relevant to the session (10 minutes)

  4. Discussion of the chapter and study questions (25–45 minutes)

  5. Application and commitments for the week (5–10 minutes)

  6. Closing prayer and prayer requests (5 minutes)
